Day 4 of Brier in 琉璃神社 sees standings separate

The 2025 Montana's Brier opened on Friday, Feb. 28 at Prospera Place in 琉璃神社.

Monday was a bit of a make or break day for teams at the 2025 Montana's Brier in 琉璃神社.

Through the three draws on March 3, it was a big day for Team Northern Ontario - Epping and Team Alberta - Koe but a tough day for Team BC.

Unfortunately for Team BC, they lost to both Team Northern Ontario and Team Alberta in draws seven and nine respectively, by the scores of 8-5 and 8-6. With the two losses, Team BC is 0-5 at the Brier.

Meanwhile, it was a huge day for Kevin Koe and his Alberta team as they got back into the competition. After starting 0-3, they beat Team BC and also collected a second win on the day in draw nine against Team Nunavut to improve to 2-3, sitting fifth in the Pool A standings.

For Team Northern Ontario, they started the day with a 8-7 win against Team Manitoba - Dunstone, handing them their first defeat. Northern Ontario sits second in Pool A at 4-1 while Team Manitoba - Dunstone sits in their tail in fourth at 3-1.

Team Nunavut also lost a game in draw seven on Monday. They are 0-4 in Pool A.

Also around the rink, Team Saskatchewan - McEwen collected a 9-4 win in draw eight, to lead Pool B with a perfect 4-0 record. Team Alberta - Jacobs also earned a big win on Monday to improve to 3-0. These two teams along with Team Canada remain the only undefeated teams remaining.

Team Manitoba - Carruthers secured a morning win in draw seven to move to 4-0 but then lost to draw nine to Team Canada 7-3.

Team New Brunswick - Grattan also went 1-1 on Monday and they are 2-2 in the tournament.

Additionally, Team Ontario - Mooibroek is 3-1 after a big 9-3 victory over Team Yukon - Scoffin on Monday.

The Brier continues on Tuesday, March 4 with draws 10, 11, and 12 taking place at 8:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 6:30 p.m.
