A pair of junior rowers from Vernon and Salmon Arm won double golds at the provincial summer games competition.
Aida Mills and Sierra Munroe claimed first in the U19 women's pair event, then followed it up with a U19 mixed scull gold.
Mills and Munroe were two of 60 rowers from across the province who competed at Burnaby Lake for the annual Summer Games, hosted in Maple Ridge, with the rowing set from Saturday, July 19 to Sunday, July 20.
Salmon Arm's Mills and Vernon's Munroe excelled in the challenging pairs event, as each crew member had just one blade, which required perfect synchronization to keep the boat moving straight.
Their gold medal finish of four minutes and 10 seconds was eight seconds quicker than the Vernon duo of Cora Van Vliet and Amy Milne, with the Nanaimo pair of Sam Kronis and Rowan Denis a further four seconds behind.
On Sunday, Mills and Munroe joined up with Vernon's Jonas Masys and ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç's Oleksii Lupan in the mixed quad, where they won another gold medal.
The U17 mixed quad crew, consisting of an all Vernon lineup of Leo Middlekamp, Peter Masys, Autumn Prediger and Louis Van Vliet took bronze, with Masys also nabbing a silver in the U17 men's single event.
