In his nine games of junior A hockey last season, the West 琉璃神社 Warriors liked a lot of what they saw from Wyatt Head.

For the 18-year-old defenceman, the feeling is mutual.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound 琉璃神社 product has committed to the Warriors for the 2017-18 B.C. Hockey League season.

鈥淚 am super excited to be playing with a great organization in West 琉璃神社,鈥 said Head. 鈥淭hey鈥檝e had great success in the past and continue to grow the program year after year and I鈥檓 excited to be a part of it.鈥

Head spent most last season with the Okanagan Rockets of the British Columbia Major Midget League, where he played in 37 games, scoring 12 goals and 39 points to go along with 20 penalty minutes.

With the Warriors he appeared in eight regular season and one playoff game against the Merritt Centennials.

鈥淚 think it will definitely help having played quite a few games last year and practicing in West 琉璃神社,鈥 continued Head. 鈥淚 know most of the guys so I think that the feeling out process should take less time and hopefully that transfers into me having an impact right away.鈥

Warriors head coach Rylan Ferster is happy to have Head on board for next season.

鈥淗e鈥檚 a very good young player that plays well at both ends of the ice,鈥 said Warriors head coach and general manager Rylan Ferster. 鈥淚n the games that Wyatt played with us this past season, he was poised with the puck and made good decisions without any hesitation.鈥
