Members of the UBC Okanagan鈥檚 golf team are looking for support to help get them back on the course for the 2017 season.

The Heat program, which is no longer funded by the university, will host a fundraiser next Friday, March 24 at the 琉璃神社 Golf and Country Club.

Battle of the Valley is a wine tasting event which runs from 7 to 9 p.m. and includes a silent auction. Tickets are $25 per person.

UBC Okanagan announced earlier this year it would no longer provide financial support for the Heat golf team to compete in the PACWEST conference.

In past years, the Heat program has cost between $40,000 and $60,000 to operate.

The UBCO golf team from 2016-17: James Casorso, Grant Dollevoet, McKenna Lesiuk, Derek Graham, Lauren Siemers, Jessica Kozak, Jacob Stewart, Emily Adams and Naoki Takahashi.
