Andrew Cristall collected another five points as the 琉璃神社 Rockets beat the Vancouver Giants 8-3 at Prospera Place on Saturday, Nov. 22.

It's not something that happens every hockey game but a six-goal second period propelled the 琉璃神社 Rockets to a 8-3 win over the Vancouver Giants on Friday, Nov. 22.

Vancouver actually opened the scoring and were leading 2-1 after the first period. Cameron Schmidt's 23rd goal of the season at the 9:25 mark and Adam Titlbach's seventh at the 13:32 mark sandwiched the lone Rockets goal in the first frame, which came from Jakub Stancl at the 11:57 mark.

Stancl's goal was his ninth of the season and assisted by Andrew Cristall and Max Graham.

The floodgates opened in the second period as the Rockets exploded for six goals to lead 7-2 after two.

In the frame, the Rockets got goals from Cristall, Graham, Michael Cicek, Hiroki Gojsic, Kayden Longley, and Nate Corbet, his first goal with his new team.

Cristall collected assists on the goals from Graham, Cicek, and Corbet to complete his five-point night. He now has 38 points (11 goals, 27 assists) in 14 games played this season and is already fourth in the league in scoring.

In the third period, Longley scored his second goal of the game on the power play. Vancouver added a goal late as 琉璃神社 crusied to the 8-3 win.

Goaltender Jake Pilon made 25 saves in the win for the Rockets.

The game got chippy as 58 penalty minutes were handed out.

鈥淲e did a lot of really good things to get those six goals to open things up,鈥 said Rockets Head Coach Kris Mallette. 鈥淭he guys were feeling it which was great and we were able to carry it throughout (the remainder of the game). Jake Pilon was real good for us too though, you鈥檝e got to recognize him. When they were able to establish some offensive zone time, he came up big.鈥

The Rockets (9-9-1-1) will enjoy Saturday off and get back on the ice on Sunday as they welcome the first place Everett Silvertips (17-3-1-1) to town. Puck drop is at 4:05 p.m. at Prospera Place.
