Longboarders from around the world will gather in Summerland for the Giant’s Head Freeride from June 7 to 9.

The event will be held at Giant’s Head Mountain Park.

Giants Head Park Road will be closed to all traffic during the event. This includes motor vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians.

Those who wish to access Giant’s Head Park will be asked to check in and sign a safety waiver at the entrance of the park. Foot traffic will be permitted on pathways, but for safety reasons, people will not be permitted within five meters of the road. Pets must remain on-leash at all times.

Event staff and volunteers will be stationed at the corners of the course to ensure the safety of riders and spectators. While safety precautions are in place, event organizers are urging spectators to stay back from the road to prevent injury from skateboards or riders who may have lost control.

Those who wish to access the hill or watch the event can check in at the Giant’s Head Park gate located at Milne Road in Summerland.

More information about the event can be found online at .
