Karl Donoghue of Okanagan Falls picked up five medals, including three gold at the in Auckland, New Zealand, April 21 to 30.
Donoghue competed in pool events and the open water 2.5-kilometre swim. Donoghue captured gold in the 50-m, 100-m and 200-m backstroke and silver in the 200-m and 400-m freestyle. His performances in the 50-m and 100-m backstroke broke his own Canadian records set in 2015. The 2.5-km open water swim was a challenge with waves and rain, but he pulled off a silver medal.
