Okanagan gymnasts perform in Lone Star state

Jackson Peters (bottom) and Sadie Mamchur won a gold medal in the level 10 mixed pairs.

Members of the Okanagan Gymnastics Centre's acrobatic gymnastics team gained some valuable international experience and brought back some hardware last month from the Texas State Championships in Beorne, Texas.

Jackson Peters and Sadie Mamchur competed in the level 10 mixed pairs event and won gold with a score of 48.95 points.

Shaylyn To and Erica Sproule competed in the level 9 woman's pair, finishing in sixth place scoring 42.60.

Kirsty Marshall, Brie-Lynn Sargeant and Megan Bailie competed in the level 8 trio category winning a bronze medal with a score of 45.85.

Jacob Wong and Jade Nyrose competed in the level 7 mixed pair, winning a silver medal after scoring 22.80.

Ava Clark and Sara Ross competed in the level 7 age group 14-15 and won the silver with a score of 23.75.

Brie-Lynn Sargeant and Megan Bailie level 7 won silver scoring 23.70, while Kirsty Marshall and Charli Hall also competing in level 7 came in sixth with a score of 21.90.

Coach Shawna Peters said she was proud of how the OGC athletes performed and the way they represented both B.C. and Canada at the competition.
