Carson Soucy鈥檚 goal late in the second period stood up as the winner, as the Vancouver Canucks beat the visiting Anaheim Ducks 3-2 Wednesday at GM Place.
Jake DeBrusk and Teddy Blueger also scored for the Canucks (28-22-11), while Sam Colangelo and Brian Dumoulin replied for the Ducks (27-27-7).
Kevin Lankinen made 14 saves to pick up the goaltending win for Vancouver, while John Gibson made 19 saves and Lukas Dostal 14 for Anaheim. Gibson was removed after a collision in his crease with Vancouver leading 2-1.
With 67 points, the Canucks are tied with the Calgary Flames for the final wildcard spot in the NHL鈥檚 Western Conference. The Flames currently hold the tiebreaker with one more victory.
Despite being outshot 17-5 in the opening period, the Ducks emerged with a 1-0 lead. Colangelo tipped in a shot from the point for his third goal of the season.
Vancouver pulled even on a power play just 65 seconds into the second period, when DeBrusk converted a Brock Boeser pass for his 22nd goal of the year. Blueger gave the Canucks a 2-1 lead midway through the period, when his wrist shot from the top of the right circle found its away past Gibson. Blueger now has six goals on the season.
Soucy鈥檚 third goal of the year gave the Canucks a 3-1 lead. It came after a long review when Anaheim unsuccessfully challenged for goaltender interference, with Vancouver鈥檚 Kiefer Sherwood tangled up in the crease.
Dumoulin鈥檚 second goal of the year came at the 13:27 mark of the third, but Lankinen shut things down the rest of the way, picking up his 21st win of the year.
The Canucks host the Minnesota Wild Friday (7 p.m.), while the Ducks host the St. Louis Blues.
NOTES: The Canucks were once again without injured captain Quinn Hughes鈥� Defenceman Filip Hronek had two assists for Vancouver鈥� Vancouver鈥檚 Conor Garland and Anaheim鈥檚 Trevor Zegras traded punches with five seconds left in the contest鈥� Vancouver went 1-for-5 on the power play, while the Ducks were 0-for-2.
