ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç’s Tiegan Taylor finished in eighth place at the B.C. Junior Girls Golf Championship.
Taylor carded a four-day score of +16 over par (72-83-73-67) 304 last week at the Okanagan Golf Club’s Bear Course.
If not for an uncharacteristic second round of 11-over 83, the ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Golf and Country Club member could have challenged for a top-five finish.
A week earlier, Taylor finished in a tie for ninth at the B.C. Women’s Amateur in Vernon. Taylor will attend the University of New Mexico this fall on a golf scholarship.
Emma Sabbagh, also of the ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Golf and Country Club, finished in a tie for 20th (317).
The story of the week at the junior girls championship was Richmond’s Alisha Lau who led from wire-to-wire to post a 9-under par score and win by 10 shots.
B.C. junior boys…
The ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Golf and Country Club’s Marcus Apchin tied for 16th overall at the B.C. Junior Boys Golf Championship. Last week in Squamish, Apchin compiled a four-day total of 13-over par, 301 (73-74-83-73).
Nik Federko from West ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç’s Two Eagles was 19th at 304, while Cole Wilson from the Okanagan Golf Club placed 42nd out of 152 competitors.
