United Crushers go unbeaten in Kamloops

Paige Guidi and the ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç United U12 girls won all four games at the Slurpee Cup.

The ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Crushers went undefeated in four games at the Slurpee Cup soccer tournament over the May long weekend in Kamloops.

Playing in the U12 division, the Crushers opened with a 3-2 won over Richmond Galaxy.

Late in the game, off a cross from Paisley Kerstens, Julia Adamson fought off the Galaxy defender and keeper, muscling the ball across the goal line for the win.

Game 2 saw the ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç girls crush New Westminster Royal City 9-0.

Gabby Cavezza and Ava Craig scored two goals each while Grace Munson was named MVP.

The Crushers then downed Prince George 6-4, with six different players scoring the goals.

In their final game of the weekend, ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç shutout Vernon 5-0. Paisley Kerstens scored twice while Ava Craig was named MVP.

• United U14 Girls

The ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç United (Jacobsen) U14 girls earned a third-place finish in the Metro Division at the Umbro Cupo tournament in Surrey.

United opened with a 3-1 loss to Coquitlam Metro Ford SC, with Kianna McRae scoring the lone goal.

In Game 2, ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç again played a strong game but fell 1-0 to Calgary Foothills

The following day, United rebounded with a 2-0 win over TSS Academy.

Chloe Howe and Jaxon Slaney supplied the goals.

In their final game, United defeated Fusion FC 1-0.

Chloe Howe scored the goal while Keeper Yan Liang made some great saves in recording the shutout and securing a third-place showing for United.
