United soccer teams pile up early season wins

A look at ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç United action from April 23 and 24 in the Thompson Okanahan Youth Soccer League.

• U11 girls

United Strikers 3, Kamloops (H) 0—Mykayla Zukowski scored once and created an own goal by Kamloops in the victory. Lauren Gubbels had the shutout in the Strikers first win of the season.

United Strikers 2, Kamloops (S) 1—Rhiannon Maynes scored both goals in the victory.

United Flames 0, Kamloops 1—Despite some sustained pressure in the second half, the Flames couldn't find the equalizer.

United Flames 2, Vernon 1—Sophia Depieri scored the game winner in the second half.

• U12 girls

United Predators 1, Kamloops (L) 0—Olivia Lawrie scored the lone goal at 37 minutes and Taylor Bay earned her fourth shutout of the season.

United Predators 5, Vernon (S) 0—Hannah Lommer and Kate Rattee scored twice each as the Predators on their fifth of the season.

United Lightning 4, Kamloops (W) 5—Anna Hopley and Kaydee Copithorne each scored a goal and an assist in the loss.

United Lightning 3, Kamloops (L) 2—Shae Taylor scored twice to give United a split of their weekend games.

• U14 girls

United (J) 3, Vernon 1—Kassidy Day, Brenna Laidlaw and Jaxon Slaney, with a cross that went in off a Vernon player, scored for ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç.

United U14 (Smith) 1, Kamloops 3—United took the lead on a goal by Layla Joseph on a free kick, then yielded three unanswered goals to Kamloops.

• U18 girls

United 3, Shuswap 0—Sophie Simair assisted Rachel Davis who directed the ball over the goalie’s head just under two minutes into the game.

With seconds left in the first half Brianna Tataryn crossed a ball to Brooke Weremy who volleyed it in for a 2-0 lead. In the second half, it was Holly deHaas from Fiona Reha tapping it into the corner of the net. Goalie Regan Medley tapped a close one up over the cross bar to maintain the shutout started by Allison Keber in the first half.

• U11 boys

United Fire 6, Vernon (W) 0—Six different scorers connected for ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç, with Chey Ragoonaden, Ben Herbert and Pavan Punia all pressuring the Vernon defence continuously.

United Fire 4, Kamloops (D) 4—Chey Ragoonaden's third goal of the game on a breakaway, on pass from Ben Hebert, in the final seconds eared the tie for United.

• U12 boys

United Legends 2, Vernon 3—Vernon overcame a 2-1 first half deficit, with Garin Milo and Brett Chipchase scoring goals for ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç.

United Legends 3, Shuswap (D) 2—Soren Crumb scored once and set up the winner by Garin Milo.

• U13 boys

United Warriors 2, United Saints 0—Ethan Delicato and Aidan Bell tallied for the Warriors, while Zach Shields and Zach Strocen shared the shutout.
