Strong defensive play and stellar keeping on both sides resulted in a 0-0 draw between ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç and Kamloops Sunday in U15 boys Thompson Okanagan Youth Soccer League action.
Possession was evenly distributed throughout the match with each team exerting short bursts of energy and pressure under the scorching sun.
The best scoring chance of the match came in extra time from KU centre back Bailey Lovich who carried the ball through the middle, beating several defenders along the way, only to have his shot deflected by the onrushing Kamloops keeper.
In other United action:
• U14 girls—ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç United and Vernon played to a 1-1 draw. Julia Burget was on the receiving end of a nice cross from Chloe Howe for ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç's only goal.
• U12 girls—The United Crushers continued their diminution of TOYSL opponents with two more wins.
On Saturday, KU beat the Kamloops Blaze 3-1 qnd Shuswap 6-0. Gabby Cavezza scored three of the Crusher's goals.
• U12 boys—The KU Legends tied Vernon 5-5 and shutout Shuswap 5-0. Matteo Bigattini scored four times over the weekend, while Oaklen Kowal added a pair. Garin Milo and Jacob Foerderer shared the shutout in the second game.
