Vernon swimmers nab provincial tournament placements

Vernon Kokanee Swim Club members competed at the North and Interior Divisional Championships in Penticton

Vernon swimmers took Penticton by storm on the Feb. 21 weekend, competing at the North and Interior Divisional Championships.

The Vernon Kokanee Swim Club sent 28 swimmers to the meet, as they competed with 15 other squads from across northern and interior B.C.

Overall, VKSC placed fourth, with one new provincial qualifying time set and 11 swimmers punching their ticket to provincials in Victoria from March 6-9. 

Provincial qualification times came from Emily Adam, Zion Ellis, Kubrick Reed, Hera Serzane, Kaeden Uesson, Julia Brandner, Brea Duncan, Senna Entner, Nathan Hubbard, Norah McIntyre and Julia Russell.

As a team, the VKSC swimmers set personal best times in 132 races, with 100 per cent best times coming from Teo Bos, Aurora Hamilton, Max Helm, Mac Poulin, Victoria Reynolds and Kilian Russell.
