Warriors look for remedy on the road

Winless in six BCHL games, West 琉璃神社 heads to the island for three games in as many days this weekend.

With October winding down, there is some urgency for the West 琉璃神社 Warriors to collect some points before the month expires.

This weekend, the defending Fred Page Cup champions hope rubber hitting the road will provide a boost as the team plays three games in three nights against Island Division opponents.

West 琉璃神社 will be in Nanaimo on Friday night, Cowichan Valley on Saturday, before wrapping up the tour with a Sunday matinee at Alberni Valley against the Bulldogs.

The Warriors' recent slide reached six games (0-5-1) on Saturday night at Royal LePage Place in a 6-3 loss to the first-place Penticton Vees.

The Vees scored three goals in a 44-second span in the opening period for a 3-0 lead, then held off the Warriors who fought back to get as close as 4-3 late in the second period.

Twenty-year-old forward Connor Sodegren led West 琉璃神社 scoring twice in the loss.

The Warriors next home action is Friday, Nov. 5 against the Trail Smoke Eaters.
