Warriors swept by 'Backs, visit Express Wednesday

Jon Russell and the West 琉璃神社 Warriors will look to end a three-game BCHL losing streak Wednesday in Coquitlam.

The West 琉璃神社 Warriors will look to get back on track Wednesday when they visit the Coquitlam Express in B.C. Hockey League action.

Face off at the Poirier Sports Centre is 7 p.m.

The Warriors (5-6-0-1), who have lost their last three games, are coming off a sweep at the hands of the Interior Division rival Salmon Arm Silverbacks.

The home-and-home set opened Friday night at the Shaw Centre with the Silverbacks prevailing 5-4 in overtime. Elijah Barriga scored the winner on a power play at 4:01 of the extra period.

A night later at Royal LePage Place, Salmon Arm scored a 6-4 victory. Quin Foreman paced the Warriors in the loss with a goal and two assists, while Reed Gunville added a goal and an assist.

Shane Farkas took the loss in the West 琉璃神社 net, stopping 26 of 31 shots.

The Warriors return home Saturday night when they take on the rival Penticton Vees.

Penticton leads the Interior Division with an 11-2-0 record.
