The West 琉璃神社 Warriors got the four points they needed on the weekend to stay in the BCHL playoff hunt.

After beating the Salmon Arm Silverbacks 5-1 on Friday (Mar. 1), the Warriors returned home on Saturday night for their 15th Annual Faith Night Game, as they welcomed the Nanaimo Clippers to Royal LePage Place for the first time in two years.

Jackson Kyrkostas (9) opened the scoring for West 琉璃神社 in the first period. Nanaimo thought they tied it up a few minutes later, but the goal was reviewed and waved off for goaltender interference.  

Simon Houge (4) put the Warriors up 2-0 early in the second period. Five minutes into the third period West 琉璃神社鈥檚 Ian Alonso made it 3-0 with his 10th goal of the season, on the power play. The Clippers got on the board about halfway through the second, but Tyler Grahme (12) put the Warriors up 4-1 a few minutes later, also on the power play. Nanaimo got one more for the period ended, as West 琉璃神社 came away with the 4-2 win.

Eddie Gauthier stopped 25 of 27 shots for the Warriors who outshot the Clippers 38-27. The Warriors went 2-6 on the power play and Nanaimo went 0-4.

West 琉璃神社 sits in seventh place (45 points) in the Interior Division, three points up on the Okotoks Oilers who hold down the last playoff spot. 

The Warriors travel to Penticton on Friday (Mar. 7) to play the Vees.
