Original McDonald鈥檚 Canada location offering $0.67 hamburgers

The Richmond location was first opened in 1967 and is celebrating 50 years.

Did you know McDonald鈥檚 opened its first-ever Canadian franchise 50 years ago? If not, then you might be even more surprised to learn the company鈥檚 first location was in Richmond, B.C.

To commemorate that historic event, the world鈥檚 most popular restaurant chain will be re-opening the doors on Friday, June 23 for some throwback specials.

They鈥檒l be celebrating nostalgia with original uniforms, vintage cars, classic images and even 67 cent hamburgers! Ronald McDonald will also make an appearance to help give away a variety of prizes

鈥淩eturning the iconic Golden Arches to their original home is a very special moment, and one that we are happy to share with the community, residents and long-time guests,鈥 said Joe Guzzo, owner of 13 restaurants including the Richmond location.

The original McDonald鈥檚 opened on June 1, 1967 and is now one of nearly 200 locations in the province.

The Richmond location at 7120 No. 3 Road will hold their 1967-themed re-opening at 11 a.m.
