A loved pizza chain that originated in Williams Lake in 2010 has opened up shop in 琉璃神社.

Red Tomato Pies founder Jason Akeson said he was approached by someone about three years ago on opening a franchise in the city.

Finding the right location proved difficult, but on Aug. 7 the pizza shop opened the doors to its 10th location at Glenmore and Kane Roads.

"If you had asked me 14 years ago if this would have been happening I would've been like no," Akeson laughed. "It's crazy the reception we see from towns, people are enjoying the pizza. That's what brings it home for us."

Red Tomato Pies is open for takeout with a large menu of pizza, pasta, wings, and more.
