Julie MacLellan

I’m the editor of Surrey Now-Leader and Peace Arch News and the Surrey area bureau chief for Black Press Media, with more than 30 years’ experience in community journalism. I earned my journalism degree at Carleton University and served as a reporter at the Orleans Star in Ontario before moving to B.C. to join the newsroom of the Ladysmith-Chemainus Chronicle. Following that, I served as a reporter and editor of the Abbotsford Times and assistant editor of the New Westminster Record/Burnaby NOW.
I’m also a choral singer, fiction writer, mom, and human servant to two black cats.
