Everyone is welcome to the Gospel Mission's Christmas Dinner this Saturday, Dec. 17.

The meals will be served from noon to 6 p.m. at 259 Leon Ave. in downtown 琉璃神社.

People from all over the Central Okanagan, including many seniors and families, will enjoy the traditional Christmas meal of turkey with stuffing, ham, mashed potatoes, vegetables, cranberry sauce, rolls and pie.

鈥淢any people who use our services consider 琉璃神社鈥檚 Gospel Mission their family and, like family, help out with the preparations to make sure we have a beautiful meal," said Randy Benson, executive director of the Mission. "Volunteering can inspire our guests to take positive action in their lives. They feel good about themselves and realize that, regardless of their past they have value and they matter.

"Our goal is to support our guests, not only with nourishing meals but also in finding their way back into a meaningful life,鈥 Benson said in a press release.

More than 50 volunteers will serve the meal, including 琉璃神社 Mayor Colin Basran, city councillors Tracy Gray, Ryan Donn, Gail Given as well as MPs Stephen Fuhr and Dan Albas.

The Gospel Mission鈥檚 needs extend beyond Christmas and any help is greatly appreciated. Contact the Gospel Mission at to donate, volunteer or give an in-kind gift.
