Salvation Army's thrift store in 琉璃神社's Rutland is once again serving the community.
The secondhand shop opened its doors once again the morning of Oct. 26 with an estimated 100 eager shoppers waiting outside.
鈥淲e could not have asked for a better turn out and more positive response from the community,鈥 said the Salvation Army's community engagement and resource manager, Lenetta Parry. 鈥淲e were thrilled to see some of our regular shoppers and meet new guests who were visiting us for the first time.鈥
The Rutland Salvation Army Thrift Store had closed for a makeover including fresh paint, shelving and lighting and a new layout.
"We wish to thank Rainbow Painting and his crew for the huge task of painting our store. Manchester Signs Printing and Graphics for the wall installation, our Rutland Thrift Store Manager Lisa Marie Pettovello, our merchandising supervisor Cindy Brewster, plus all our staff and volunteers who helped make our makeover possible," says Parry.
A ribbon cutting ceremony took place with local dignitaries, cookies, coffee, tours of the new shop, and in-store promotions.
The thrift store is open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Donations can be dropped off from Tuesday to Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
