Lake Country Fire Department scores 2nd straight Fire Extinguisher trophy

The tournament took place at Big White on Monday, Feb. 17

The Lake Country Fire Department won their second straight Fire Extinguisher trophy with a 5-4 win over the Big White Fire Department.

The Lake Country Fire Department (LCFD) are back-to-back champions.

On Monday, Feb. 17, LCFD took on the Big White Fire Department (BWFD) and the West 琉璃神社 Paid-On-Call Firefighters Association (WKPOCFA) in a three-team hockey tournament at Big White Ski Resort, battling it out for the Fire Extinguisher trophy.

After falling 6-5 to BWFD in the first game, LCFD fought back with a 8-3 win over WKPOCFA to set-up a finals rematch against Big White.

In another back-and-forth game, LCFD fought until the final buzzer to win 5-4, clinching the title for the second straight year.

It was the third annual tournament.
