Fire Prevention Week is here and the Lake Country Fire Department kicked it off in traditional fashion inviting a few lucky students to become fire chief for a day.
Each year, one student from three local elementary schools spend their morning with professional firefighters.
On the morning of Oct. 7, three students were picked up by the fire department, enjoyed breakfast at the fire hall and then were dropped off at school in the big red firetruck.
The Lake Country Fire Department uses Fire Prevention Week to teach fire safety to grade three classes in partnership with Central Okanagan Public Schools.
