Current and retired Penticton Police Service Dogs Dug and Harro. Dug is the first to be featured in a new series of press releases by the BC RCMP on dogs at detachments around the province.

If you've attended Penticton's Cram the Kennel event in December of 2024, you may have seen Dug there.

Dug is one of many police service dogs in B.C., and for March, the RCMP. have selected him to highlight in a new series focusing on police service dogs at detachments across the province.

With his handler Cpl. Jason Goodfellow, Dug also goes to local schools and other community events in Penticton.

According to his police profile, Dug's favourite toy is a kong-on-a-rope, and his favourite activity is hiking the outdoors with his retired buddy Harro.

Dug has been in service with the police for the last year and a half, and works both frontline duty and human remains detection tasks.

The most surprising thing about him, according to his profile? He's not a fan of bears or baths.
