PHOTOS: Lake Country dignitaries join athletes at new outdoor sports court

Mayor Blair Ireland and Councillor Bib Patel played road hockey and more with kids from RINK and BCG

The early polls say that the new outdoor sports courts in Lake Country are a success.

On Thursday, Oct. 31, athletes from RINK Hockey Academy and kids from Boys and Girls Club - Okanagan (BCG) along with Lake Country Mayor Blair Ireland and Councillor Bib Patel were at the new court to play some road hockey, basketball, dodgeball, and more.

Ireland and Patel were even given hopscotch lessons by the kids.

The new court is located at the NEXUS Activity Hub, between the Winfield Arena and the BCG Okanagan in the Multi-generational Activity Centre (MAC).

There are no programs on the court, meaning it is open 24/7 for anyone to use.
