For anyone who's ever wanted to soar with the eagles, now is their chance.
The Sicamous Eagles are looking for volunteers to help out during home games, particularly in bringing their new mascot to life.
In a Facebook post, the team describes the ideal candidate as energetic, outgoing and "willing to do what it takes to get the crowd on their feet while maintaining a positive and professional image." Some dancing may be involved, but "dance skills are not required."
The mascot applicant must be available for all home games, public events and other team functions. The Eagles are hoping to fill the position as soon as possible, but it will remain open until they find the right candidate who is "looking to have some fun while entertaining people," and who believes they have what it takes to "energize the team and home crowd."
The Eagles are also seeking a name for their feathered friend, with suggestions being accepted at events.sicamouseagles@gmail.com. The mascot's official name will be announced at the Friday, Nov. 8 game.
Other positions the team is looking fill include security, camera operator, goal judges, Serving It Right certified bartenders, 50/50 ticket sellers and ice crew, who must be able to skate.
Anyone interested in joining the team in any of those capacities is asked to contact Steve at sicamouseagles.office@gmail.com.
