The Tree of Hope Light-Up is returning to 琉璃神社.
From 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, the Landmark District will be transformed into a winter wonderland for anyone in town to enjoy. On top of the tree lighting taking place at 5 p.m., there will be a skating rink, a Christmas market, hot chocolate and s'mores stations, food trucks, and photos with Santa (make sure to book your spot ahead of time).
And this year, the sparkle will shine beyond the tree with the entire Landmark District donning lights.
鈥淭his event is more than just a celebration of the holiday season鈥攊t鈥檚 about bringing people together and creating moments of joy and connection,鈥 said Stober Group CEP Lisa Lock. 鈥淭he Tree of Hope Festival reflects the sense of unity and community spirit we strive to foster throughout the year. We are so excited to welcome everyone to this magical day and share in the joy of the season.鈥
The lights will remain up throughout the holiday season, giving residents a chance to enjoy the lights and walk through the displays if they can't attend the event.
After the light-up, local country artist Dawson Grey will take the main stage for a country Christmas performance.
Each year, the Stober Group uses this event to help bring awareness to a cause in the community and this year the partner is Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR). At the event, the Stober Foundation will be making a special announcement and "unveiling a significant capital gift" to COSAR.
鈥淐OSAR plays a critical role in our community, offering life-saving services in moments of crisis,鈥 said Stober Foundation President Ken Stober. 鈥淭heir volunteers are the unsung heroes of the region, and we are proud to support their efforts to ensure they have the resources they need to continue their vital work.鈥
