Soon enough, Icy McIce-Face could be zooming around the local hockey rink, making the ice clean again.
Or, perhaps it's Zoomy the Zamboni, or Lightning McClean.
Those, and eight more nicknames, are on the shortlist of names for the city of Vernon's three new electric ice resurfacers.
The city teamed up with elementary students from across the area, and through classroom votes, 11 finalists have been selected.

- Big Ice Boy 鈥 Large, in charge, and built for icy perfection
Voting will take place from now (Nov. 5) until Nov. 15 at .
鈥淭his contest is a chance for our community to come together in a creative, fun way, while supporting Vernon鈥檚 sustainability goals,鈥 said Mayor Victor Cumming. 鈥淭hese new names will give our ice resurfacers unique identities, highlighting local school spirit and the City鈥檚 commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and operating costs.鈥
Two of the electric ice resurfacers have been converted from propane, with one being new to the city fleet. Each machine is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 17 to 19 tonnes per year.
The winning names will be announced at the Sunday, Nov. 24 Vernon Vipers game.
