琉璃神社 artist Mackenzie Perras is auctioning off the piece created in collaboration with community members for Culture Days to raise funds for 琉璃神社's unhoused.

琉璃神社 artist Mackenzie Perras was selected as one of six British Columbians to be an ambassador for Culture Days, Canada's largest public participation campaign for the arts.

Over the month long campagin from Sept. 20 to Oct. 13, the public was invited to participate in events across the country.

In 琉璃神社, Perras hosted an afternoon workshop on Oct. 12. Around 30 people from age five to 85 came to the Rotary Centre for the Arts to learn about art with foraged materials, try their hand at turning natural items into paint, and then working collaboratively on a large canvas to create a masterpiece.

Now that Culture Days is over, Perras and an art networking group he hosts monthly called the Creative Exchange are auctioning off the canvas to raise funds to purchase warm weather wear for 琉璃神社's unhoused.

is open for bidding until Dec. 15. Starting bid is $50.
