HBO’s post-apocalyptic drama The Last of Us is reportedly filming in Mission.
Reports surfaced on Tuesday (March 5) that the production is filming scenes for the show’s second season at a Mission property.
The production crew reportedly rented a property in Mission, BC, near a golf course, to film scenes for Season 2 👀

A production has been underway in Mission for the past few days at a secretive set where a crane is visible from a distance. The City of Mission couldn’t share details about the production.
The Last of Us notched 24 nominations at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey were nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor and Actress respectively.
Season one of the show was filmed in various locations around Alberta, but HBO announced in April that its second season would feature Vancouver-area sites.
City of Mission communications manager Taryn Hubbard says more productions have chosen the area in the past year, with an uptick after labour disputes were resolved in the industry.
“It’s just wonderful to see all the productions come to Mission and to see our town on the screen, no matter if it’s big or small,” Hubbard said.
The film industry’s impact on Mission extends past fees the city can collect.
“If productions are here, they are buying gas, they’re eating in restaurants, they are staying in hotels — so there’s an economic benefit to that as well,” Hubbard said.
“But one thing about filming in Mission that is so big with people is the community pride that comes with it. If you’re watching a film or a television show and you see our home community on screen, there’s something quite special about that.”
