The soft, toe-tapping sounds of a Vernon-born artist are debuting in an iconic Penticton venue.
Kailee Duggan has been performing for years as an opening act for artists like Dan Mangan, Bahamas and Andrew Allen.
Now, the 琉璃神社 resident is headlining The Dream Cafe March 1.
She is thrilled to take the stage of the Penticton venue, where many of Kailee鈥檚 own influences have played.
鈥淭he energy in Dream Cafe is so magical, since it鈥檚 always been a listening environment, artists have a chance to share their stories and really connect with the audience,鈥 said Kailee, whose own music is a blend of soulful, folky-pop.
She writes from a vulnerable heart and shares her emotional journey from this crazy thing we call life. She also released her first single last month and would love listeners in her hometown to hear it ().
Well-known Okanagan rhythm section and close friends, D鈥橝rcy Booth and Dylan Ranney, will be joining her on the Dream Cafe stage.
Having backed up dozens of skilled acts such as Devon Coyote, Josh and Bex, Sherman Doucette, Leila Neverland and many more, they bring versatile skills and grooves to Kailee鈥檚 dreamlike songs.
With their extraordinary musical talent, passion and humour, this trio welcomes you to what feels like their living room, and you鈥檙e surely to leave feeling like friends.
鈥淢usic and art is an opportunity to connect and feel all the things that make us human and also all the things we can鈥檛 explain,鈥 says Kailee, as she anticipates her show.
With the opening performers, Volunteers 鈥 a three to six piece alternative country band from the Okanagan, starting at 8 p.m. 鈥 it is recommended for those attending to get there early to enjoy a meal and conversation before the show starts, as the space is meant to be listened to.
