The 2024-25 NHL season came to an end for the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday night.
Pavel Dorofeyev鈥檚 third-period goal stood up as the winner, as the visiting Vegas Golden Knights beat the Canucks 4-1 at Rogers Arena.
Vegas (50-22-10) moves on to the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs against the Minnesota Wild. The Canucks (38-30-14) failed to qualify for the post-season.
Victor Olofsson, Jack Eichel and Cole Schwindt also scored for the Knights. Pius Suter had the lone goal for Vancouver.

Akira Schmid made 16 saves to pick up the goaltending win. Kevin Lankinen started in goal for Vancouver and stopped 19 of 20 shots. Nikita Tolopilo came on in relief and took the loss, stopping seven shots.
Vancouver opened the scoring 8:23 into the first period, when Suter tallied his 25th goal of the season. Suter knocked home a rebound of a Conor Garland shot.
Olofsson pulled Vegas even at 1-1 18:33 into the second period, ripping a shot from the left faceoff circle high over Lankinen鈥檚 glove hand.
Dorofeyev made it 2-1 7:59 into the third, coming down the left wing and firing a shot past Tolopilo.
Eichel rapped home a rebound off a Ben Hutton point shot at 10:45 to make it 3-1 and Schwindt scored his first career goal into an empty net with 1:32 to play.
