The 琉璃神社 Rockets are getting an early start on the 30th season in franchise history.
On Monday, April 14, the team filed a trademark for a new logo, which appears to pay homage to the original Rockets logo.
While it is very close to the same, the main difference in the newly filed trademark logo is it has EST. 1995 instead of a WHL crest.
The trademark has been accepted by the Canadian Trademarks office, but it has not yet been assigned to an examiner. It is meant for the use of the organization and many goods and services including clothes, hats, sweaters, billboards, promotional items and more.
In the trademark process, the next step is the examination and publishing of the trademark to provide an opportunity for the public to oppose its registration, if anyone chooses to do so. Once the opposition period concludes the trademark will move from formalized to registered.
On top of next season being the 30th anniversary of the Rockets, the team is set to host the Memorial Cup to conclude the CHL season in 2026.
