Venables Theatre in Oliver is gearing up to welcome back a pair of renowned tribute bands and take music lovers back in time to another era.
The party starts Sept. 12, when Ontario-based Simply Queen takes the stage and plays the greatest hits from the iconic English rockers. It's been almost five years since the group has been to the South Okanagan town.
Fronted by Freddy Mercury "impersonator extraordinaire" Rick Rock, the Queen tribute band has been featured at venues across Canada and the United States for several years. Its regular appearances across North America and beyond led Venables Theatre in its event announcement to call the band "world-class."
The group, which also includes CC Lambrick (guitar/keyboards/vocal), Mitch Taylor (bass/vocal) and Phil Charrette (drums/vocals), has also appeared at the Penticton Peach Festival.
Six days later, the South Okanagan theatre welcomes back Take it To The Limit, a Vancouver-based band that pays tribute to The Eagles.
Expect the tribute rockers to play classic tunes like Hotel California, Lyin' Eyes and Take It Easy.
The Eagles tribute group, like the Queen-themed rockers, have also previously played at the Peach Festival.
Tickets for both shows can be found
