Padel mania descends upon Lake Country

Lake Country Padel hosted their final tournament of the 2024 season

The final summer tournament for the Lake Country Padel Club ended in an epic.

The Vancouver duo of Faris Al-Mudaffer and Faris Fani outlasted the Lake Country-琉璃神社 duo of Mike Botterill and Caleb Jones in a nearly three-hour battle to claim victory.

The tournament was the send-off to the padel season in B.C. Lake Country has the only three courts in the whole province and regularly brings out players from across Western Canada.

A previous tournament in early August brought teams as far as Mexico.

Al-Mudaffer, who came from Vancouver to compete, was ecstatic at the hospitality of Lake Country members.

"It was great company, and an experience I will not forget," said Al-Mudaffer. "Long may padel grow in B.C."

More information can be found at , as the club hosts an open drop-in every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday from 4 p.m. until dusk.
