C-Lovers relocates at Capri Centre Mall in ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç

After 15 months since their lease expired in the Dilworth Shopping Centre, C-Lovers Fish & Chips has now opened a new second location in ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç ay the Capri Shopping Centre on Gordon Drive, on the Dollarama side of the mall.

Owned and operated by Nick and Kim Koutavas, this new location has been completely renovated from top to bottom, and is twice the size of their previous Dilworth location. With 20 employees and 112 seats, including booths and tables, the restaurant is modern, open and bright with sky-lights. C-Lovers is 100 per cent Ocean Wise and offers dinners, platters and burgers of cod, haddock, halibut, salmon, prawn and oysters. C-Lovers popular all-you-can-eat fish and chips, which includes bottomless pop is available every day, any time and includes pricing for children and toddles with children age two and under free. The homestyle C-Food Chowder is gluten friendly with an abundance of Alaskan halibut, fresh cut vegetables and bacon. Add the delicious mushy peas to any order. The Koutavas also own and operate the C-Lovers Fish & Chips in West ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç at 3466 Carrington Rd.  

Argus Properties Ltd. has appointed two hospitality leaders to key positions in their hotel portfolio. Jason Guyitt, who was formerly at both the Four Points by Sheraton and Hampton Inn & Suites at the Airport, will now serve as general manager of Eldorado Resort. Marriott operations manager Ahmad Taher will take over Jason's former general manager role. Jason is actually going back home as he began his journey with Argus in 2019 as director of food and beverage at Eldorado Resort. Before joining Argus, Jason spent seven years at the Delta Grand. He currently serves on the Tourism ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Board. Ahmad joined Argus in June 2022, drawing from his extensive Marriott experience in the United Arab Emirates. Ahmad has a compelling story as he arrived in Canada amidst the Ukraine war. Ahmad was recently honoured with the Marriott’s Operations Manager of the Year Award. Gil Vallee is the director of hospitality for Argus Properties.

The ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç RCMP will partner with the ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Salvation Army for the annual Stuff a Cruiser Toy Campaign. Two locations will be set up on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m,. with one at the ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç RCMP Detachment on Richter and Clement and another at Toys R Us, 2020 Harvey Ave. Last year, the event raised over $11,000 and 500 toys. If you cannot attend that day, donations will be accepted at the ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç RCMP Detachment, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  

Kot Auto Group has acquired Okanagan Dodge. This acquisition makes the second Dodge, Jeep Chrysler dealership under the Kot Auto Group umbrella with Woodgrove Chrysler being acquired in 2022. Kot Auto Group is family owned and operated with John Kot, president, working alongside his wife Trina Kot,  sons Brandon and Jordan Kot, daughter Janessa McGowan and son-in-law Connor McGowan who manage 10 dealerships across B.C. In the Okanagan. The auto group includes ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Hyundai, Genesis ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Buy Direct Truck Centre, ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Kia and Penticton Nissan.    

Dress for Success will host its biggest clothing sale of 2024 on Friday, Nov. 29, from 3 to 7  p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 30, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  Their 1,000 square-foot space at 1771 Cooper Rd. in ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç (second level above San’s Latin Market) is overflowing with amazing, stylist and great quality clothing. There is lots of new stock and selection, great prices, and most items are $5 to $25.  

Choice Hotels Canada has recognized Comfort Suites ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç as the recipient of the 2024 Renovation of the Year Award after the hotel recently underwent an impressive full-sale renovation and refresh from January, 2023 to June 2024.  This award recognizes a property that completed renovations that subsequently drove growth in guest satisfaction increases. Carla Carlson is the general manager of the property.

Now celebrating 10 years of supporting the Salvation Army Red Kettle Fund, from Nov. 28 to Jan. 5, the 875 Theodora Rd. Christmas light display  is ready for viewing. Lights go on daily at dusk and stay on until about 10:30 p.m. Visitors will see a yard full of items featuring hundreds of stuffed penguins at various stages of work, play and fun. The Easter Seals Poker event raised $20,000. Over the past 13 years, the Century 21 Team of volunteers has raised $500,000 to help send kids with disabilities to the Easter Seals Camp in Winfield. Brent Pay is the organizer.

100 Women Who Care ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç raised $10,107 for Elevation Outdoors. Elevation Outdoors is able to offer specially designed outdoor sports programs, personal mentorship and life skills coaching to vulnerable youth who face barriers to participation in the Okanagan.
