A women鈥檚 race car driver from Comox Valley is coming to 琉璃神社 for International Women鈥檚 Day.
On Mar. 7, the day before International Women鈥檚 Day, 琉璃神社 Mercedes-Benz is welcoming Formula 3鈥檚 first female champion Nicole Havrda.
The 18-year-old will be on hand to share her story about competing in a male-dominated sport as well as encouraging more women to enter the automotive industry. She will also be taking part in a question and answer period with members of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
This initiative will also be a part of Mercedes-Benz Canada鈥檚 Driving Your Future corporate citizenship initiative, which focuses on empowering the next generation of Canadians.
Havrda鈥檚 goal is to make it to Formula 1.
