All invited to Global Running Day celebration in 琉璃神社

Hundreds of runners are expected to attend the event on June 5

Hundreds of runners of all ability levels will lace up and skedaddle around the 琉璃神社 Park Run course on Wednesday June 5, to celebrate Global Running Day.

The 5 km run, which begins at 6:30 p.m. is free and does not require prior registration.

People are also invited to walk or participate in only a section of the run if they would prefer not to complete the full loop. A map of the course is available at the

Whether you are a beginner or elite athlete, all are invited to take part in the event.

The run will be held on the same course as the weekly Saturday morning , which begins at the at the junction of the Rail Trail and Angel Way, near at the intersection of Spall Road and Clement Avenue. of the exact starting location.

Folks can either park at the Parkinson Rec Center and walk along Angel Way to the start, or park in the lot off of Spall Rd, which is located beside the meeting spot for the run.

The group will start running at 6:30 p.m. and will reconvene afterwards for fun and prize giveaways.

琉璃神社鈥檚 numerous clubs, including those that are focused on track and trail running, will be represented at the event.

People are also encouraged to bike to the event, as it coincides with GoByBike week in 琉璃神社.
