UPDATE: 2 a.m. DriveBC announced that the incident has been cleared.

ORIGINAL: A vehicle crash has closed the Coquihalla Highway northbound Saturday, Oct. 5.

DriveBC reports the highway is closed northbound after Larson Hill due to a vehicle incident between exit 238 to Juliet Road and exit 256 to Coldwater Road, 28-31 kilometres north of the Coquihalla Summit. The crash took place shortly before 5 p.m.

Six ambulances were on scene according to the PulsePoint app, and there are reports that an air ambulance has also attended the scene.

Major delays are to be expected, and DriveBC says alternate routes are available via Highway 1 or Highway 3.

It's unknown how many vehicles were involved.
