The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen Emergency Operations Centre has rescinded the evacuation order issued for the two properties impacted by Sunday night鈥檚 rock slide west of Keremeos.

A geotechnical assessment of the situation was completed Tuesday afternoon and determined that the risk of rock fall has returned to previous levels, said the RDOS in a press release.

Highway 3 has reopened to one lane in each direction. Watch for traffic control and lane closures between Hedley-Nickleplate Road and Ashnola Road for 5.5 kilometres (3 to 9 km west of Keremeos). It鈥檚 a reduced-speed zone.

Power has been restored to the area.

TELUS services are currently experiencing a disruption impacting landline phones in Keremeos, Electoral Area 鈥淕鈥 due to the rockslide, which may affect your ability to reach emergency 911 services.
