A new daycare is being proposed for the South Pandosy neighbourhood.

Worman Homes has submitted a development application to the city, on behalf of 琉璃神社 Kids, for a purpose-built daycare at 439 West Avenue.

鈥溋鹆裆 Kids is already an existing tenant in our building at 2750 Richter and we have been working with them to expand for years,鈥 reads the application letter.

It also explained that expansion at the current site is difficult given the requirements of the daycare.

鈥淔or this site (West Ave.) we decided rather than develop to the full extent under the zoning bylaw and not be able to accommodate them we wanted to prioritize the daycare.鈥

The development application states that play space is available onsite, and the new building would also border Abbott St. Park.

The daycare would provide spaces for 48 children.
