The sound of shots being fired in Anglemont let to two firearms-related charges.

Chase RCMP, as well as the Southeast District Emergency Response Team, were called to a home in Anglemont at 4:22 a.m. on Sept. 30. The call came after a report that shots were fired inside.

A woman was charged with pointing a firearm and discharging a firearm with intent after police intervention at the scene, which involved containing the home and asking neighbours to shelter in place, said Chase Sgt. Barry Kennedy.

The woman was taken into custody with no issues and no one was injured.

Police held the scene throughout the day as a search warrant was prepared and executed, reads Kennedy鈥檚 Oct. 25 media release, and a Forensic Identification Services team from Kamloops helped process evidence.

The woman has since been released from custody and is awaiting her court date.
