The 2024 Lhtako Quesnel BC Winter Games were a great success for the Thompson-Okanagan.
Also known as Zone 2, the region came fourth in the games with 62 medals (23 gold, 16 silver, 23 bronze). The zone ranges from 70 Mile House down to Osoyoos and east to Revelstoke.
A good amount of the zone’s medals came from the Central Okanagan:
ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç
Addyson Kruchkowski win two bronze medals in archery;
Catriona Kilgour won bronze in CCP women’s all-around artistic gymnastics;
Brayden Renou won three bronze medals in artistic gymnastics - pommel horse, rings, and vault;
William Bertrand won two biathlon gold medals, in individual and sprint, while winning silver in the junior category;
Kai Redman won a silver medal and a bronze medal in cross country events;
In karate, ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç brought home six medals. The advanced 163 cm U14 Individual Kumite was a ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç sweep as Chase Hobson won gold, Xander Blais won silver, and Traeton Zerr won bronze. Fyodor Joe and Imara Al Johmane also won gold medals in their respective categories while Zerr also collected a second bronze medal;
Xander Haaheim won gold in a 400m speed skating event and bronze in the 1000m super final.
Lake Country
Wyatt Bot won silver in the sprint biathlon and bronze in junior biathlon.
West ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç
In the individual girls biathlon event, Tamiris McNern brought home gold;
Conor Schoene won gold in his event while Izzy Brown and Hattie MacBeth clinched gold and silver respectively in their girls category.

In team events as a zone, Thompson-Okanagan brought home gold in boys curling, bronze in girls curling, silver in badminton, gold and bronze in karate, ringette in silver, and silver in a speed-skating mixed relay.
The boys curling team consisted of 12-year-old skip Owen Jaeger, second Noah Wielgosz, third Spencer Rempel, and lead Brenden Hruschak. They beat Comox Valley 7-3 in the gold medal game.
The girls team that won bronze was Gwyneth Jones, Jacey Hallstrom, Ella Walker, Teagan Le Pool, and Hanna Lyle.
