Andrew Cristall and Jake Pilon led the ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Rockets to a 2-1 win on Tuesday night (Dec. 12) in Moose Jaw.

The Washington Capitals prospect got the scoring started in the first period when Cristall found the back of the net at the 8:18 mark of the first period, making it 1-0. Gabriel Szturc and Ethan Mittelsteadt assisted on the goal.

It remained 1-0 until late in the second period when Moose Jaw Warriors forward Pavel McKenzie scored his sixth goal of the season to tie the game.

But in the third period, it was Cristall again as he scored his second of the game – 17th of the season – at the 11:52 mark to regain the lead. Caden Price and Tij Iginla collected the helpers on the eventually game-winning goal.

In net, Pilon made 32 saves for the Rockets. Warriors goaltender Jackson Unger also had a great night despite the loss as the Rockets peppered 40 shots at him, stopping 38.

Cristall has returned to form since his injury. With his two goals on Tuesday night, he extended his point streak to 10 games. In that stretch, he was seven goals and 10 assists. He’s up to eighth in WHL with 45 points this season.

Coincidentally, the Rockets are 6-3 since Nov. 21, outscoring their opponents 26-17. They sit seventh in the Western Conference with a record of 13-14-2-0.

The Rockets eight-game road trip continues on Wednesday night as they take on the Brandon Wheat Kings, who sit fifth in the Eastern Conference.

After that, the team will enjoy a day off before playing their last two games before the Christmas break. On Friday night (Dec. 15), they’ll be in Prince Albert, Sask. to take on the Raiders while on Saturday (Dec. 16), they take on the Saskatoon Blades. Both games start at 5 p.m. Pacific time.
