The Regional District of Central Okanagan wants to make sure residents are prepared for anything with emergency readiness initiatives.

From April 15 to May 12, Central Okanagan municipalities are invited to a series of in-person and online events to ask questions and share ideas on how to better protect the area ahead of floods, fires, and other disasters.

鈥淲ith the increasing occurrence of disasters such as flooding, debris flows, drought, wildfires and extreme weather, being prepared for emergencies is more important than ever,鈥 said Sandra Follack, emergency manager for the Regional Emergency Program. 鈥淯nderstanding how residents prepare for emergencies and their preferred methods for receiving critical information during such situations is crucial for the safety of our communities.鈥

路 Ellison Heritage Community Centre: May 6, 4 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
