Community Action Toward Children’s Heath is hosting a community forum tonight for Central Okanagan candidates.
Representatives from ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç-Lake Country, ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç-Mission, ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç West and Penticton are invited to answer questions on the top three issues:
• Safe and affordable housing
• Livable income and employment
• Safe and affordable childcare
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for the public to enter. From 6:30 to 7 p.m. candidates and their team will be able to meet with the public and answer questions, distribute materials from their table.
A list of events will start at 7 p.m.:
From 7 to 7:30 p.m. candidates will have 3 minutes to make opening statements including stating their party platform, individual priorities etc.
From 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. the moderator will make general remarks to the audience. An explanation to the public will also be made as to the difference between a forum and a debate. Candidates will respond to questions posed by the moderator that are from the list of questions that have been supplied prior to the forum. Candidates will have one minute to respond to a question.
At 8:30 to 8:50 p.m. questions from the audience that have been submitted in writing and vetted by the moderator will be asked to all candidates.
From 9 to 9:30. there will be a final opportunity for candidates to talk to the public and pack up materials.
The event is held at Hollywood Road Education building.
