More than a week after its Facebook site was hacked, Kalamalka Rotary has regained its social media presence just in time for its major fundraiser.

鈥淚t鈥檚 been a very frustrating experience, especially since our gala Dream Auction is only weeks away. We鈥檝e been posting regularly to keep the community up to date on ticket sales and auction items,鈥� said Faith Wood, chair of the Kalamalka Rotary 40th Anniversary Dream Auction.
鈥淲e鈥檙e encouraging followers to like our page and share the posts to reestablish our new site. All our previous information could not be saved.鈥�

鈥淲e have an amazing evening planned,鈥� said Wood. 鈥淎ndrew Allen will begin our evening at 4:30 p.m. with a cabaret style concert while guests mingle and are served appetizers. An exquisite four-course dinner will be served at 6 p.m. followed by the live auction.
"Back again this year is Auctioneer Don Raffan, who will captivate the audience with his auctioneering expertise."
Artist Jordan Perkins is joining this year to do a live painting which will be auctioned off.
The evening will close to the classic rock music of Feet First.
Live Auction items range from local ski and winery getaways to deluxe travel packages, advertising, art pieces, e-bikes, home furnishings and appliances, and much more.

An unfortunate setback has hit a local service organization mere weeks ahead of its major fundraiser.
The Kalamalka Rotary Club鈥檚 Facebook page was recently hacked and replaced with inappropriate content.
The social media site is a key communication channel for promoting the 40th annual Dream Auction and engaging supporters, putting the event鈥檚 success at risk.
The Nov. 16 auction, a cornerstone fundraising event, supports numerous charitable projects both locally and internationally, including scholarships, youth programs, and vital global initiatives. The upcoming 40th anniversary of the Dream Auction is one of the most significant events in the club's history, with proceeds set to benefit even more causes than ever before.
Despite efforts to contact Facebook and Meta, the club has yet to receive a meaningful response, leaving the page in its current state with limited options for immediate resolution.
Rotary is asking the community, friends, and supporters to help amplify their voice by reporting the compromised page to Facebook and spreading the word about the Dream Auction through other channels. Community members can report the hacked page by visiting Facebook鈥檚 Help Center.
