A man is facing a court date after being busted with a buggy full of stolen groceries.
At 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, Salmon Arm RCMP received a report from a store employee regarding a man who had left with a shopping cart full of unpaid-for groceries. With a description of the man, officers found him pushing the cart on a nearby street.
The 41-year-old man, known to police, was unable to produce a receipt for the groceries and was arrested for theft, said media relations officer Const. Andrew Hodges in a media release. The man was later released with a future court date, and all the stolen items were returned to the store.
