A repeat property crime offender has been arrested after a coordinated operation involving the Summerland, Lake Country, Vernon and 琉璃神社 RCMP.
The investigation into Kevin Andrew Brophy, 44, began in September shortly after he moved from the Kootenays to the 琉璃神社 area, said Ryan Watters communications advisor with the 琉璃神社 Police Services.
On October 21, Brophy was arrested while breaking into a secure compound in 琉璃神社. The RCMP said that Brophy will remain in custody until his next court appearance on Nov. 16.
Over the course of the collaborative investigation, police intercepted and recovered over $500,000 worth of stolen property.
鈥淭his coordinated investigation shows the continued efforts of the 琉璃神社 RCMP and it鈥檚 Proactive Enforcement Units including the Target Team to reduce property crime and target active offenders in our community,鈥 said Cpl. Guillaume Tanguay, of the 琉璃神社 RCMP Target Team.
Brophy, is facing multiple charges including break and enter, possession of stolen property over $5,000, theft over $5,000, theft under $5,000 and mischief.
Officers are continuing to investigate other incidents believed to be associated to Brophy.
